The project centered on crafting a dynamic visual identity for Prins & Aap, Andaz Amsterdam's latest barstro concept located on the famous Prinsengracht canal. Building upon their renewed hotel brand and collaborating closely with the hotel's team, we ensured that the visual identity was both compelling and creative. Aligning seamlessly with their vision.

This effort culminated in the development of a unique and engaging website design and experience, enhancing the brand's digital presence.

Our Work

We were given complete freedom by the team to come up with something that was creative and reflected the free spirit of Andaz. The name Prins & Aap - is a play on the name of the canal on which the bar is located and the name of the hotel, Andaz Amsterdam Prinsengracht. Prins & Aap also reflects the polarities in which the hotel concept is rooted. Inspired by this, we created one-line drawings that always consist of two objects that don't belong together, but still form a new whole. For example, a cheese and a bicycle, or the main symbol of the restaurant, a monkey with a crown. The colour palette is a range of colour-blocking colours that reflect the adventurous nature of the brand, and the typeface is a combination of minimalist and italic.

We brought the visual identity to life through a fun and colourful digital experience. All the while ensuring that the strategic objectives and the user experience for potential customers remained at the forefront of our thinking.
