From code to creativity, Stan shares what drives his work, how his role has evolved, and what it means to build future-ready platforms for luxury boutique brands from custom booking engines to AI-powered design.
WHAT DREW YOU TO THE ORANGE STUDIO?
I freelanced for five years before joining the team, always searching for that sweet spot between aesthetics and performance. Most places were either too technical or too focused on design. Here, I found both, we build immersive, functional experiences that carry the essence of a brand.
WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT YOUR ROLE?
No two projects are ever the same. Every client brings a different energy, a different challenge and even if the technical process feels familiar, the outcome is always unique. That variation is what keeps me motivated.
HOW HAS YOUR ROLE EVOLVED SINCE YOU STARTED?
When I joined, I was focused purely on development, writing code, delivering the tech. Over time, as the agency grew, I became more involved in project strategy, client relationships, and cross-team collaboration. Now I help shape the why behind what we build, not just the how.
WHAT MILESTONES ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF?
There are two that really stand out. First, the evolution of our client portfolio, we’ve gone from boutique beginnings to working with brands that truly understand identity and experience. Second, a big technical leap: moving from WordPress to Statamic. It gave us the flexibility to build more complex, bespoke solutions that grow with our clients.
ANY STANDOUT PROJECTS YOU’RE ESPECIALLY EXCITED ABOUT?
We recently completed a custom booking engine layered over an existing PMS. It lets users book directly on the site without leaving the brand environment, creating a seamless, end-to-end experience. It’s a massive technical challenge, but also super rewarding, because it solves a real industry pain point. Read more about the project here.
HOW DOES AI PLAY INTO YOUR WORK?
It’s become an essential part of my workflow. I use AI to speed up development, brainstorm logic, write clearer documentation, and even simplify complex ideas when talking with clients. I built my own GPT to help explain technical concepts in a more human, brand-friendly tone. It’s like having a second brain on call.
WHERE DO YOU SEE THE FUTURE OF WEBSITE DEVELOPMENT HEADING
Websites are evolving into apps more complex behind the scenes, but simpler and smoother for the user. Expectations are higher, integrations are deeper, and AI is speeding things up. But paradoxically, that simplicity on the surface requires more intelligence and precision underneath.
WHAT SKILLS ARE YOU CURRENTLY WORKING ON?
Communication. As developers, we often get deep into the technical details, but it’s equally important to be able to communicate clearly, especially with clients or cross-functional teams. The best solutions come from collaboration, not just code.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE SOMEONE STARTING IN WEB DEVELOPMENT?
Master the fundamentals, build things constantly, and don’t underestimate soft skills. There are a lot of talented developers out there, but the ones who stand out are the ones who can explain their thinking and work well with others.
AND FINALLY, ANY HOBBIES YOU ARE WORKING ON AT THE MOMENT?
This year, I’m finally learning one thing I’ve always wanted to: singing. Singing because I come from a musical family, and it’s a very personal form of expression.
At The Orange Studio, we’re not just building websites , we’re building brand experiences that last. And that requires people who care deeply about quality, story, and craft. Stan is one of those people and we’re proud to have him shaping the future of what we build.
